Waiting for Austin to get out of the shower, so here’s what else happened on Tuesday!
After the price is right, we headed to the cheesecake factory in the grove. The grove is this outdoor-ish mall, it’s really cool. The cheesecake factory was great, but the hour and a half ride back due to traffic was not. That was awful.
That night we got to hang out with the guys from evolution, including two of our founders, Michael and rono, and 1 of 3 five-year members, Jamie paisley. We met and talked about sone group origin stuff. It was a really cool experience. We’ve had this amazing tour with such incredible experiences, and the fact is we would never have had any of this, had it not been for these guys. They sang some songs for us and did a bang up job, and then we got to sing for them. They really seemed to enjoy what we’ve done with the group now. We also got to sing do you fear, coney, and good ol’ with them, which was a ton of fun.
After that, we headed over to the house of our new best friends in acappella, the socal vocals!! These guys are so nice, and hosted us in their awesome house by USC. we did their version of a throwdown (improv circle) with them and made some cool sounds, and then we each sang 3 songs for each other. We did our would-have-been icca set of man for life, fireflies, and when love takes over, and they blew us away with heard it through the grapevine, dirt road by gabriel Mann, aaaand I’m blanking oh no…the girl from their group who was on the sing off, Kelli, she rocked a song but I can’t remember what it was.
THEN they asked us to sing down to earth with them, since it’s on our cd. But, it was a studio only arrangement and we never really learned it..so we did it! Ian took a video on nate’s camera that I’ll need to post. It was awesome, we tried to remember some parts, made up new parts, listened and built off of theirs, it was just PHENOMENAL. you just need to see the video.
We hung out for a while, had a ton of fun, and came back to the hotel. Biiiig thanks to the vocals for having us over, it’s fun to make friends like this on tour. We’ll be cheering for you at the ICCA’s!!
Austin’s about ready to go, so I’ll write about yesterday later today. Woo!
